The action-drama also starred Meka Srikanth, Sonali Bendre, Sangeetha Krish and Sonali Bendre in significant roles.
Khadgam was one of the most acclaimed Telugu films that year, besides being a boxoffice hit and recipient of 5 Nandi Awards, including the ones for Best Direction and Best Film on National Integration. Khadgam was remade in Hindi as Insaan, which released in 2005.
Incidentally, another of Krishna Vamsi's films, Murari, recently had a theatrical re-release, opening to packed houses across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
