Ram Pothineni-starrer Double iSmart, which had a theatrical release on August 15, has premiered on OTT on Thursday. The Puri Jagannadh action-entertainer can now be streamed on Prime Video.

Double iSmart is an official sequel to the 2019 film iSmart Shankar, which too starred Ram in the lead role. In our review for the film, we noted, “Like the first part of the franchise, Double iSmart too uses the element of sci-fi (memory transfer, to be specific) for its story. Believability is not a key element here, and the film is quite clear in its tone. Unfortunately, the film is also brash and unbridled in its misogynistic humour, which leaves a terribly bad taste in the mouth.”

Besides Ram, Double iSmart features Sanjay Dutt as the antagonist and Kavya Thapar as the female lead. The film also features music by Mani Sharma, who has been one of the most regular collaborators with Puri Jagannadh over the past 2 decades. According to boxoffice tracker Sacnilk.com, Double iSmart garnered approximately Rs 20 crore at the box office worldwide.

Ram Pothineni is reportedly working with Mr Bachchan director Harish Shankar for one of his upcoming projects.
