Ajay, who recently appeared in Devara: Part 1 and Mathu Vadalara 2, will be seen playing an antagonist in the upcoming film Pottel. Ahead of the film’s release, the Mathu Vadalara actor interacted with the media, talking about what makes his Pottel role special.

Ajay, who has earlier played many villainous roles, most famously Titla in SS Rajamouli's Vikramarkudu, said, “After Vikramarkudu, there have been less and less great villains in Telugu cinema. Most of them are in Rajamouli's movie. Characters like Titla do not come regularly. It happened like magic.” Further talking about his post-Vikramarkudu trajectory, the actor said, “I tried some similar characters, but it didn’t work. Patel's character in Pottel, however, has many shades. After many days, I found a role that I liked, that gave me happiness as an actor.”

In Pottel, Ajay will be seen playing a spiritual godman named Patel, someone who holds a lot of influence over other villagers and their decision-making. Directed by Sahit Mothkhuri, Pottel will hit theatres on August 25.
