Eminent film producer KE Gnanavel Raja, who had distributed the Tamil version of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 1 and Baahubali 2, recently opened up about plans for Baahubali 3 by the makers. The Thangalaan producer was interacting with media recently when the subject of his association with Baahubali came up.

Recalling a recent conversation with the makers of Baahubali, Gnanavel stated, “Baahubali 3 is in the planning stages. I found out while discussing with filmmakers last week. They did Baahubali 1 and 2 back-to-back, but they're now planning Baahubali 3 after a gap.” Also talking about other popular franchise-based movies like Kalki, Salaar, and Singham, Gnanavel Raja stated that the audience enjoys sequels only when there is a sufficient time gap between the release of each instalment of any franchise.

KE Gnanavel Raja is also producing the upcoming Suriya-starrer Kanguva. Meanwhile, SS Rajamouli’s next film is with Mahesh Babu, tentatively titled SSRMB29. It is to be noted that the makers of Baahubali haven’t made any official statements on their plans for Baahubali 3 for many years now, leading for the fans to believe that the project had been shelved.
