Shekar Chandra, who has composed music for films like Ambajipeta Marriage Band and Ooru Peru Bhairavakona earlier this year, is the music director for the upcoming rural drama Pottel. Ahead of the film’s release, Shekar interacted with the media and spoke about his work for the Ananya Nagalla starrer.

Talking about the challenges of creating a soundtrack for Pottel, Shekar stated, “The entire movie is very rustic and carries many emotions. There is thumping music in the villain and hero moments. Ajay’s character, particularly, has a good elevation moment.” Further talking about the unique elements for Pottel songs, he added, “There is a story in the preludes and another emotion that is carried in the stanzas.”

Talking about his working process and collaboration with lyricists, Shekar Chandra stated, “Almost every lyricist has told me that their lyrics sound good in my compositions. I always make a tune with dummy lines, which makes the work easier for the writer as well. My songs have mostly lyrical scope.”

Shekhar Chandra has also composed for director Sahit Mothkhuri’s previous film Savaari. His upcoming projects include two movies starring Raj Tarun and Naveen Chandra, respectively. He is also composing music for the Varalaxmi Sarathkumar starrer Kurma Nayaki.

Pottel will have a theatrical release on October 25.
