Producer Naga Vamsi, owner of Sithara Entertainments, remarked about the issue of film ticket pricing and the criticism towards it during a recent interview to promote his upcoming release, Lucky Baskhar starring Dulquer Salmaan.

Talking about people’s criticism of rising ticket prices of films, he commented, “Movie ticket pricing is not increasing. The ticket price in a single screen is Rs 250. A family spends Rs 1000 on a movie on a single screen. And maybe, another Rs 500 on popcorn. At best for three hours of engagement, they are paying only Rs 1500. Cinema watching is still the cheapest form of entertainment. Which other form of entertainment offers this? Do shopping malls offer such an affordable experience?”

Naga Vamsi’s remarks have sparked a discussion among netizens. While a few are agreeing to it, most of the people are criticizing his comments.

Naga Vamsi’s upcoming projects include Nandamuri Balakrishna’s untitled film with director Bobby, Vijay Deverakonda’s untitled film with Gowtam Tinnanuri, and Mad Square which is a sequel to Mad (2023).
