Mithun Chakraborty onboard Prabhas-Hanu Raghavapudi’s period drama

Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the Prabhas starrer is based in the period of pre-independence India

The makers of the upcoming period drama that stars Prabhas and is directed by Hanu Raghavapudi announced on Monday that veteran Mithun Chakraborty is a part of the film. The production house Mythri Movie Makers, which is producing the film on a grand scale, took to X to wish Mithun Chakraborty for receiving the Dada Saheb Phalke Award, widely considered the highest honour in Indian cinema. Congratulating him, they wrote, “You thoroughly deserve it for your rich contribution to Indian Cinema. We, team Prabhas-Hanu, are honoured and delighted to have you on board for our magnum opus.” 

The film, which is described as a period-based action love story, is reported to be titled “Fauji.” As per reports, Prabhas is essaying the role of a soldier in the film set to be in the pre-independence era. The makers released a concept poster that indicates that Prabhas could be a member of Subhash Chandra Bose’s Azad Hind Fauj.

The makers launched the period drama on August 17 with a formal pooja ceremony. Vishal Chandrasekhar is composing the music and background score for the film. Director Hanu Raghavapudi’s last release was Sitaramam, starring Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur, which was well received by audiences and critics.
