Actor Ram Pothineni, known for his transformation from boy-next-door roles to high-octane action performances, is set to return to his roots with his next project, tentatively titled RaPo22. Directed by P Mahesh Babu, the film promises to explore a more sensible and serene narrative, much to the delight of Ram’s fans.

The project was formally launched today with a pooja ceremony attended by notable filmmakers such as Gopichand Malineni, Hanu Raghavapudi, and Venky Kudumula. Gopichand switched on the camera, Hanu sounded the first clap, and Venky directed the inaugural shot, which featured Ram alongside lead actor Bhagyashri Borse in a customary Muhurtham scene.

Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravishankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner, RaPo22 is being positioned as a grand-scale project. Reports suggest that it will be a breezy entertainer with an ensemble cast. Director Mahesh Babu, who previously helmed the feel-good drama Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty, is directed the subtle drama.

The makers said that the film will have an aesthetic and calming tone, further raising anticipation among fans. With the launch completed, shooting is set to begin soon.
