The much-anticipated pan-Indian film Thandel, starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, is set to hit theaters globally on February 7, 2025. This release date was announced during a special event hosted by the makers on Tuesday, where director Chandoo Mondeti revealed that the final 10 days of shooting would soon be completed. Following this, the team will initiate extensive promotional activities while finishing post-production.

Thandel is a love story set in the Srikakulam coast backdrop. Naga Chaitanya portrays a fisherman who gets captured by the Pakistani army.  Sai Pallavi, who is currently celebrating the success of her recent blockbuster, Amaran, plays the romantic interest of Chaitanya's character. The film is written and directed by Chandoo Mondeti, known for the National Award-winning Karthikeya 2. Allu Aravind and Bunny Vas bankrolled the film, with Geetha Arts being the presenting banner. Renowned composer Devi Sri Prasad has crafted the film’s score, while Shamdat handles cinematography and Srinagendra Tangala serves as production designer.

Thandel marks the second collaboration between Naga Chaitanya and director Chandoo Mondeti, following their 2016 project Premam, an official remake of the Malayalam film of the same name. Initially the film was planned for a Sankranti release but was later pushed.
