The much awaited muhurtham pooja of RC 16 took place on Wednesday morning in Hyderabad. The makers of the film, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, recently announced Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead. The muhurtham pooja was graced by a host of guests, including Chiranjeevi, Boney Kapoor and Buchi Babu’s mentor Sukumar. Speculations suggest that RC 16, which is set to be a sports drama centred on a paraplegic athlete, is reportedly titled Peddi. 

The muhurtham pooja had Chiranjeevi kick off the project ceremonially by sounding the clapboard, while veteran producer and Ram Charan’s uncle Allu Aravind handed over the script to the film’s team. AR Rahman, who has been roped in to compose music for RC 16, has also graced the event, praising Buchi Babu’s enthusiasm and passion. Janhvi’s father, producer Boney Kapoor, asserted his eagerness to make more Telugu films in the future. He has also expressed his interest in remaking Buchi Babu’s debut feature Uppena (2021) in Hindi. 

 RC 16 is presented by Sukumar and Mythri Movie Makers and produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the banner Vriddhi Cinema. Rathnavelu is the cinematographer of the film, with editing by Anthony and production design by Avinash Kolla. 

 Janhvi will be making her Telugu debut with the NTR Jr starrer Devara, scheduled to release later this year. Ram Charan, on the other hand, is gearing up for the release of Game Changer.. The film, directed by Shankar, will see him share screen space with Kiara Advani.
