Sivaji, who was recently seen in the web series 90s - A Middle Class Biopic, has now joined the cast of Varalaxmi Sarathkumar starrer Kurma Nayaki. The makers of the film made the announcement on Saturday.

Kurma Nayaki is being jointly produced by the banners Rohan Productions, MM Creations, and Kalabhairava Production.Rohan Productions shared a character glimpse video of Sivaji on their X page to welcome the actor in their team, adding the caption, “Welcoming the master of versatility and powerful actor Sivaji  on-board for an epic journey of the Kurma Avatar! He is all set to stun and surprise everyone. Advance Happy Birthday, dear Sivanna!” It is to be noted that Kurma Nayaki also marks Sivaji’s comeback to movies after 8 years. His last film appearance was in the 2016 movie Seesa. 

The socio-fantasy film was officially announced in November 2023, and the first look was unveiled in March this year. Kurma Nayaki is written and directed by K Harsha Kadiyaala. The film’s ensemble cast comprises Athiraraj, Saikumar, Sapatagiri, Getup Srinu, Mahesh Vitta, Sarayu, VTV Ganeshan, Raj Krishna, and Thaagubothu Ramesh, among others. Raam is the cinematographer, and Shekar Chandra is the music director. The editing is helmed by Chota K Prasad. 

Varalaxmi was recently seen headlining the action-thriller Sabari. The actress’ upcoming projects include the Dhanush directorial Raayan.
