Actor Rakesh Varre, who ventured into film production five years ago with the film Evvarikee Cheppoddu, is now coming up with his second production, Pekamedalu. The makers of the film released their new single, ‘Sher Shiva’ on Friday.

Composed by Smaran Sai, ‘Sher Shiva’ is an energetic celebration number thats very rustic in its vibe. The fun colloquial lyrics are penned by Bhargava Karthik. The robust number is sung by multiple singers like Niklesh Sunkoji, Saurabh Chaganty, Smaran Sai, Deviprasad Thatikonda, Ganesh, and Vivek. The song also incorporates music from a live brass band called Pentaiah Band. The ‘Sher Shiva’ song videos shows the film’s protagonist, Laxman (Vinoth Kishan), participating in the pompous birthday celebrations of a local influential figure. 

Pekamedalu is written and directed by Neelagiri Mamilla. The film stars Kannada actress Anoosha Krishna as the female lead, opposite Vinoth Kishan. The film’s supporting cast includes names like Ritika Srinivas, Jagan Yogi Raj, and Anusha Nuthala. The cinematography is by Haricharan K, and editing is jointly helmed by Srujana Adusumilli and Hamza Ali. Hamza has also co-written the screenplay in collaboration with director Neelagiri and film’s co-director, Sreenivas Ittam.

Produced under the banner of Crazy Ants Productions, Pekamedalu is slated for a theatrical release on July 19, clashing at the box office against Priyadarshi-starrer Darling and The Birthday Boy.
