The makers of Nandamuri Kalyan Ram-starrer Bimbisara announced a prequel film on Friday, on occasion of the actor’s birthday. The film, titled Bimbisara 2, will be directed by Anil Paduri. 

Bimbisara 2 is being produced by NTR Arts. The banner, while announcing the prequel, also shared a concept poster of their film along with the caption, “Get ready to witness the virtue of a legend who ruled Trigarthala ages before Bimbisara.”

Bimbisara, the action-fantasy film that was released in 2022, was directed by Mallidi Vasshistha. Made on a budget of approximately Rs 40 crore, the film turned to be the biggest box office hit of Kalyan Ram’s career.

The makers are reportedly planning to commence the shoot for Bimbisara 2 in the coming few weeks. More details about the film’s primary cast and crew are yet to be announced. 

Kalyan Ram was last seen in the period action-drama Devil: The British Secret Agent. Besides Bimbisara 2, Kalyan Ram also has NKR 21 in pipeline, where he will be seen sharing screen with Saiee M Manjrekar and veteran actress Vijayashanthi.
