Prasanth Varma, who recently delivered a major box office hit with the superhero film HanuMan, penned a note to mark the 6th anniversary of his film Awe (2018). In his note, Varma described Awe as his ‘first adventure into this world of cinema, that gave the courage to come this far!’

The 2018 film was produced by Nani and Prashanti Tipirneni. Prasanth Varma thanked his producers in his note, adding, “This couldn't have been possible without your belief & support.” Nani also made a special appearance in the film, lending voiceover for one of the parts. Ravi Teja too gave a special voiceover for one of the characters in Awe.

Prasanth added in his note, “Grateful to my entire cast & crew for their endless trust and for standing by me and believing in me from the start, Your love and encouragement have been overwhelming.” The ensemble cast of Awe included actors like Nithya Menen, Kajal Aggarwal, Murali Sharma, Regina Cassandra and Eesha Rabba.

Awe, which marked the directorial debut for Prasanth, was a rare cross genre movie for Telugu cinema. It comprised multiple stories that explored various themes like mental health, sexuality, magic, and time travel. The film also won 2 National awards that year - for Best Makeup and Best Special Effects.
