Producer Naga Vamsi recently revealed in an interview that Vijay Deverakonda’s next will be a franchise film. He said, “We have planned the film as a two-part story right from the beginning. We didn’t randomly split the story and diluted the first part, from the beginning the film is a two-part franchise. If you watch the first part, you will be satisfied with the story. You won’t feel left out even if we don’t make a second part. Both stories are complete and different.”

Tentatively titled VD12, the action thriller is written and directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri of Jersey and Malli Raava fame. The film also stars Bhagyashri Borse in the lead role. The makers are yet to announce the film’s title. The film has music by Anirudh Ravichander which added buzz to the film. Naga Vamsi also revealed that Anirudh delivered a great song for the film. The film is bankrolled by Sithara Entertainments in association with Fortune Four Cinemas. 

VD12 is billed as a spy thriller with Vijay Deverakonda’s character kept under wraps. The makers announced the film’s release date to be March 28, 2025 clashing with Pawan Kalyan starrer period epic, Hari Hara Veera Mallu. Vijay Deverakonda’s last theatrical outing was The Family Star which opened to not-so-positive reception from the audiences.
