Singer-composer Ramana Gogula, a prominent name in Telugu film music in the 2000s, has made a big comeback with his latest single for Venkatesh starrer Sankranthiki Vasthunam. Titled ‘Godari Gattu,’ the playful love song has emerged as a chartbuster, with over 27 million hits on YouTube. During a recent interaction with media, Ramana spoke about his reaction to the song's success and his future plans, among other subjects.

Talking about ‘Godari Gattu,’ where he shares playback credits with Madhupriya, Ramana recalled Premante Idera, his first film as a composer that too had Venkatesh in the lead. “It is very heartwarming to receive such a response for the song. It felt like life has come a full circle,” he added.

Ramana Gogula has composed popular soundtracks for films like Thammudu, Badri, Lakshmi and Johnny. Talking about his plans to return to composing, Ramana said, “All the contemporary music directors are making wonderful music, and the songs are fantastic. However, there is a small void somewhere in a new kind of music. I am ready to fill that void, and I believe I have some innovative ideas.”

Ramana, who is currently living in the US, also discussed his association with team Sankranthiki Vasthunam. He said, “Anil Ravipudi and Bheems Ceciroleo are loving people, and have a fantastic attitude. Venkatesh gaaru too is a very good friend of mine. Anil has made a wonderful film with Sankranthiki Vasthunam, and it will entertain everyone.”

Also starring Meenaakshi Chaudhary and Aishwarya Rajesh in lead cast, Sankranthiki Vasthunam is slated for a theatrical release on January 12 next year.
