The Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule, which was released in theatres nationwide on Thursday, has registered record-breaking numbers at the domestic box office. With its day 1 collection, the film has already broken multiple box office records, including the highest opening figures for a Hindi language release.
According to box office tracker Sacnilk.com, the Allu Arjun-starrer collected over Rs 67 crore nett for its Hindi version alone, beating Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, which had collected Rs 65 crore nett.
The film additionally collected Rs 98 crore in other languages, including 85 crore figures in the Telugu language, taking its day 1 figure to Rs 165 crore. This makes Pushpa 2: The Rule the highest opening Indian film ever. To provide context, the other all-time leading day-1 openers are RRR and KGF 2, which garnered Rs 156 crore and Rs 116 crore, respectively.
It is to be noted that these figures do not include the 10 crore Pushpa 1 collected on Wednesday, from its special premiere shows. As per early estimates, the Sukumar directorial is likely to achieve a similar figure on day 2 as well.
