Reports suggest that the makers of Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule —Mythri Movie Makers—are said to be stuck in an unresolved deal with Prasad’s multiplex, one of the most noted theatres in Hyderabad. The film is not getting a release in the multiplex yet. The producers who are also the distributers of the film are said to be demanding a bigger share than the norm for the pan-Indian gangster film. 

Prasad's multiplex offers 52.5% and 50% share to the distributors in normal screens and big screen respectively. It's been the case for the past one decade. But the makers of Pushpa 2 are reported to be demanding 55% distrubuter share which the esteemed multiplex is not budging to offer. Exhibitors circle suggests that the multiplex is not a chain-based one and they have only 7 screens. If they offer a higher share now, fearing that they might be forced to offer the same percentage in future for other bigger films, the multiplex chain is reported to be taking a stand. Because Prasad’s multiplex offers PCX, which is one of the largest screens in the country, cinephiles and fans of the Pushpa franchise are awaiting a resolution between the makers and their beloved theatre.

Director Sukumar’s sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise promises a high-scale narrative. Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers, in collaboration with Sukumar Writings, the film also stars a stellar supporting cast, including Fahadh Faasil, Rashmika Mandanna, Sunil, Rao Ramesh, Brahmaji, and Jagadeesh Pratap. With cinematography by Miroslaw Kuba Brozek, music by Devi Sri Prasad and editing by National Award-winner Naveen Nooli, Pushpa 2 is playing in the theatres from December 5.
