Earlier this year, the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana approved a formal request from the makers of Pushpa 2: The Rule to increase the ticket prices for the film in the states. Subsequently, actor Allu Arjun took to social media to thank the Andhra Pradesh government for the decision to approve the request, which he calls "progressive".

"I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Government of Andhra Pradesh for approving the ticket hike," wrote the Pushpa 2: The Rule star on X. Besides thanking Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CMO Pawan Kalyan, he said that the decision demonstrates the government's "steadfast commitment to the growth and prosperity of the Telugu film industry."

The ticket price hikes for the Sukumar directorial vary for single-screen and multiplex theatres and by dates. Also starring Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, the Pushpa: The Rise sequel is slated for a December 05 release in theatres. The hikes, which let the producers Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings take advantage of the hype around the film, reportedly apply from release day to as long as December 23, making it one of Telugu cinema's costliest ticket rates ever. Earlier, similar hikes were also applied to films such as Salaar, Kalki 2898 AD, and Devara.

There are concerns among fans and film circles regarding the hike in the film's ticket prices. Meanwhile, a petition has reportedly been filed in Telangana High Court against the makers of the film for the ticket price increase.
