Samantha Ruth Prabhu, on Friday, took to her X page to laud the efforts of the WCC towards the consolidation of the recently-released Hema Committee Report that brought to light the exploitation and discrimination faced by the women in Malayalam cinema.

In the same note, the Kushi actor urged the Telangana government to release a sub-committee report on sexual harrassment, which was submitted in 2021, in order to ‘frame government and industry policies, to establish a safe working environment for women in TFI.’

The Voice of Women is a support group for female artists of the Telugu film industry that was founded 5 years ago. Their insights played a part in the sub-committee report.

Besides Samantha, Amala Akkineni and filmmaker Nandini Reddy shared their views on the matter through Instagram. Nandini posted on her page, “So deeply proud of the women leading these simultaneous movements across regional film industries! Absolutely in awe!”

Actor-producer Lakshmi Manchu also shared the note in her Instagram stories section, tagging Telangana CM Revanth Reddy and Telangana women’s commission in her post.
