The primary team of Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, the latest Nani starrer that hit theatres this Thursday, came together for a post-release press meet on Saturday. On the occasion, the film’s director, Vivek Athreya, thanked Nani for his support while making this film.

Addressing the media, Vivek Athreya stated, “When I first narrated the story to Nani, I didn’t understand what kind of potential he saw in it. I realised it only yesterday.” Further talking about Nani’s support and encouragement while making his film, Vivek recalled, “When I told him the intro scene idea for his character Surya, where he appears in a half-beard look, to capture the Yama-Chitragupta split personality idea, Nani didn’t hesitate for a second. He just asked me when we were planning to shoot it, etc. The faith he had in me is much more than the belief I had in myself for this film. It was this level of freedom that enabled me to make this film and have this journey.”

The director also thanked his producers for having trust in him to handle a big-scale actioner like this, even though he had largely made soft, genre films or romantic dramas earlier in his career. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is the fourth film of Vivek’s filmography and marks his second collaboration with Nani after the 2022 film Ante Sundaraniki.
