Today in Hyderabad, an action film titled Thalvar, which stars Akash Jagannadh, the son of director Puri Jagannadh, was formally launched with a customary puja ceremony. Directed by Kasi Parasuram, the film marks his debut and is produced by Bhaskar ELV under the Warnick Studios brand.

Thalvar raises expectations as its screenplay is written under the supervision of acclaimed screenwriter Vijayendra Prasad, best known for his work on the Baahubali films and RRR. The writer made the first clap for the film, directed by debutant Kasi Parasuram. Actor Karthikeya, director Bobby, and director Buchi Babu Sana were also present at the launch ceremony. Buchibabu Sana, who helmed Uppena and is currently helming Ram Charan’s upcoming sports drama, is said to have directed the first shot for the film.

The makers of Thalvar also released a first-look poster for the film, which features Akash Puri in action mode, and promised that it would be a bloodbath. It is set to include a large ensemble cast, the specifics of which will be revealed when regular production picks up.
