Production banner Vyjayanthi Movies, which is currently working on the sci-fi magnum opus Kalki 2898 AD, has issued a notice against copyright infringement against their intellectual property, namely, Kalki 2938 AD.

The press note declares that they are the sole owners and proprietors of the cinematographic film titled Jagadeeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari starring Chiranjeevi and Sridevi, which was directed by K Raghavendra Rao in the year 1990. The notice also reiterates that they are the sole owners of the film and own exclusive rights to produce any derivative works including remakes, sequels, prequels, web series, etc based on the film and the underlying works in perpetuity across the world in any languages.

While this has not been explicitly mentioned, the timing of the public note being released might be a warning of sorts to the makers of Mega 157. The yet-to-be-titled film, set to be directed by Vasshista, is a mythological socio-fantasy film. The director was also quoted in interviews saying that the film is going to be similar to Chiranjeevi’s iconic film Jagadeeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari.
