Sheena Chohan to make her Telugu debut

CE Features

Actor Sheena Chohan, who recently starred in the Hotstar original web series, The Trial headlined by Kajol, will be making her Telugu debut in a film featuring  JD Chakravarthy, who was recently seen in the web series Dayaa. The film’s muhurtham pooja took place during Dasara and it went on floors earlier this month. The film is produced by Malkapuram Shivakumar under the banner Suraksh Entertainment and is directed by Shravan Jonnada. This is not Sheena’s first foray into South Indian cinema. The actor had previously worked with Mammootty in the Malayalam film The Train (2011).

Speaking about how she landed this role, Sheena says, “I play a crucial role in the film, and it posed quite the challenge because it is my first film in Telugu. I’m very excited to work down south - I met Shivakumar sir in Mumbai a few months back and what I really like about working with him is that he has been very supportive of me and my talent, by introducing me to the Telugu film industry, which I deeply admire as it is giving me a platform to shine through. I really enjoy working with him because these kinds of situations, of putting a film together, can get very tense, but it has been a pleasure working with him."

She further adds, "The film is directed by Shravan Jonnada, who I’m looking forward to working with as well. He believed in my ability to understand and give full conviction to my character and trusted I would give my 100%. He felt I fully suited the role and thus selected me so we can create a powerful film, that brings his vision of bringing justice against all the odds to life.”

Sheena also has the biopic of Sant Tukaram in the pipeline, where she will be essaying the role of his wife
