Vidudhala, the Telugu version of Vetrimaaran’s recent film Viduthalai will be streaming on ZEE5 from May 26 onwards. The Tamil version of the film, which had its theatrical release on March 31, was available for streaming on the same OTT platform from April 28 onwards.

Vidudhala Part 1, which was distributed by Allu Aravind’s Geetha Arts, released in theatres on April 21. While the theatrical cut of Vidudhala has been streaming from May 23 onwards, the director’s cut will be making its OTT debut three days later. The theatrical cut of Viduthalai/Vidudhala is two hours 16 minutes long, while its uncensored counterpart has a runtime of two hours 32 minutes. Vidudhala Part 1 joins films like Dasara, Pushpa: The Rise and 18 Pages in the list of features where the OTT platforms run the director’s cut of the film.

Vidudhala Part 1 chronicles the story of Kumaresan, a rookie cop, who is tasked with the job of escorting militant leader Perumal from anti-government outfit Praja Dalam in a jeep. The film, which has opened to rave reviews and decent collections, is an unflinching treatise on the ethics of police brutality. The film is headlined by comedian Soori in his debut lead role. Vijay Sethupathi, Gautham Menon, Bhavani Sre and Rajiv Menon play supporting roles. Ilaiyaraaja composed the music for the film.
