Chiru 156 to be Bro Daddy remake?

Abhilasha Cherukuri

We had earlier informed you that director Venky Kudumula will be helming Chiranjeevi's Chiru 156. However, the collaboration could not materialise and Venky is now working his Bheeshma actors Nithin and Rashmika Mandanna in an upcoming film produced by Mythri Movie Makers.

The industry is now rife with speculations that Chiru 156 is going to be the official Telugu remake of Bro Daddy, with director Kalyan Krishna at the helm. Bro Daddy is directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran.

It is to be noted that Chiranjeevi had earlier starred in Godfather, the Telugu remake of Mohanlal’s Lucifer. The Malayalam film also marked Prithviraj’s debut directorial. Sources suggest that much like Godfather, where Chiranjeevi reprised the role of Mohanlal.

A comedy of errors set around two accidental pregnancies, Bro Daddy released in January 2022 directly on Disney + Hotstar. Bro Daddy was written by Sreejith N and Bibin Maliekal and produced by Anthony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.

Sources close to Chiru 156 also suggest that Siddu Jonnalagadda and Sree Leela might be essaying the roles played by Prithviraj and Kalyani Priyadarshan in the original. Chiru 156 will be produced by Sushmita Konidela.
