Veteran character actor Kota Srinivasa Rao, who was recently seen in R Chandru's Kabzaa took to social media to address some false news of his demise on social media, which has led to fans posting condolence messages and police officers landing outside his residence.

Speaking in a video, Kota wishes the viewers a happy Ugadi before jumping into the topic, saying, "Some people on social media have been spreading messages, that I have passed away. From 7:30am onwards, I have at least answered 50 phone calls, reassuring people that I am alive and well. The most surprising of all, is we have had cops arrive at our doorstep, they came here under the assumption that crowds need to be controlled and security needs to be provided to VIPs outside my funeral. Kindly do not take these rumours seriously. I am also urging miscreants to earn money and publicity through better means."

Kota Srinivasa Rao is a popular actor, known for his work in Telugu cinema. He starred in over 750 films. He has also briefly been in politics, serving the East Vijayawada constituency as a MLA, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is a recipient of the Padma Shri
