Project K is now Kalki 2898 AD

The makers of Project K, the tentatively titled upcoming Indian film, have revealed the film’s name as Kalki 2898 AD, at the ongoing San Diego Comic Con festival in the US, on Friday. The makers also released a first glimpse of the film as well.

A sci-fi film set in the dystopian far future, precisely 2898 AD, when the world is taken over by the darkness. The glimpse shows various instances where people are in distress, and without revealing the plot, the video shows a futuristic time where the public is engulfed in utmost distress and are captivated. Actor Prabhas is shown as a saviour, who is expected to save them from their miseries.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film also stars Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani, Pasupathy, Kamal Haasan, among others. Kalki 2898 AD is bankrolled by Vyjayanthi Movies, and slated to release on January 12, 2024.

Santhosh Narayanan is scoring the music while the film is shot by Djordje Dtojiljkovic.
