Prem Kumar set for an August 18 release

Prem Kumar, an upcoming comedy centred around weddings will be released on August 18. The release date announcement was made by the film's makers while unveiling its trailer on Tuesday evening. Santosh Shoban plays the titular role of Prem Kumar. The film also stars Rashi Singh, Krishna Chaitanya, Ruchitha Sadineni, Krishna Teja, Sudarshan, Ashok Kumar and Srividya. Prem Kumar is directed by debut filmmaker Abhishek Maharshi, who has played character roles in films like Maharshi and Padi Padi Leche Manasu. He has also worked as a writer for the AHA original web series The Beauty And The Baker. Abhishek has written Prem Kumar along with Anirudh Krishnamurthy. 

Prem Kumar is Santosh Shoban's fourth release of 2023, after Kalyanam Kamaneeyam, Sridevi Shoban Babu and Anni Manchi Sakanumule

The two-minute-long trailer of Prem Kumar shows the life of Prem who decides to become a detective specialising in background checks for people looking to get married after failing to find a bride for himself. Prem Kumar is produced by Shiva Prasad Paneeru under the banner Sharanga Entertainments, the comedy has music by S Anant Srikar, cinematography by Rampy Nandigam and editing by Garry BH.
