Social media is rife with speculations that Chiranjeevi will be headlining the Telugu remake of the 2019 Tamil blockbuster Viswasam, starring Ajith Kumar and Nayanthara. Reports say that VV Vinayak will be helming the remake, marking his third collaboration with the actor after Tagore (2003) and Khaidi No 150, which was a remake of Katthi (2014).

Viswasam tells the story of a well-respected Thookku Durai (Ajith) and his efforts to reunite with his estranged daughter after his wife (Nayanthara) leaves him due to his violent ways. Directed by Siva, the film, which was released in 2019, proved to be a critical and commercial success, and went on to fetch its music composer D Imman a National Award. The film also stars Anikha Surendran, Jagapathi Babu, Vivek, Thambi Ramaiah and Robo Shankar.

If the speculations about the Telugu remake are proven true, it will be Chiranjeevi's second remake in the pipeline after Bhola Shankar, a remake of Vedhalam, also directed by Siva. His recent release, GodFather, was also a remake of the Malayalam film, Lucifer (2019). His latest release is Waltair Veerayya directed by Bobby Kolli. The action entertainer proved to be a success at the box office.
