The re-release of Chiranjeevi's Gang Leader (1991), originally scheduled for February 11, has now been postponed to a later date. The film's team has cited technical issues with respect to remastering the film to the 4K version, as a reason for the postponement.

The original announcement regarding the re-release of the cult action drama film came on January 31, and the ticket bookings have been open for nearly a week now. Gang Leader written and directed by Vijaya Bapineedu, has Vijayashanti as the female lead, along with an ensemble cast, with Sarathkumar, Kaikala Satyanarayana, Murali Mohan, Sumalatha and Nirmalamma playing pivotal roles.

Gang Leader has been produced by Ravindranath Chowdary Maganti with music composed by the legendary late composer Bappi Lahiri. The film, an industry hit in the heyday, has enjoyed enduring popularity in the Telugu states over the last three decades.

Waltair Veerayya, Chiranjeevi's last outing at the box office, earned a little over 130 crore rupees at the box office in net collections. It will be streaming on Netflix from February 27.
