The makers of Jilebi have announced that their film will be released on August 18. They earlier announced a release date of July 21 but never officially announced the postponement.

Jilebi is written and directed by K Vijaya Bhaskar, who has earlier directed cult comedy films like Nuvvu Naaku Nachav, Malliswari and Manmadhudu. Jilebi is the launch project of Sree Kamal, Bhaskar's son. The film stars Shivani Rajashekar in the lead role. Taking a detour from his repertoire of family comedies, Jilebi will be a horror comedy, set in a boys hostel. The film's shooting was wrapped in early May.

Jilebi also stars Ankith Koyya, Sunny, Bumchick Babloo, Rajendra Prasad, Murali Sharma and Getup Srinu.

Jilebi is produced by K Vijaya Bhaskar, Gunturu Rama Krishna and former TV actor Anju Asrani under the banners SRK Arts and Anju Asrani Creations. Veteran composer Mani Sharma is the music director of the film, with cinematography by Satish Muthyala and editing by MR Varma.
