Businessman, also titled Businessman - Guns Don't Need Agreements, one of Mahesh Babu's most successful films to date, is re-releasing on his birthday which falls on August 9. The actor turns 48 this year.
It may be noted that during his birthday last year, Okkadu and Pokiri, two of the actor's enduring fan favourite films, have enjoyed some wide re-releases across the Telugu states. This year's birthday, in addition to the re-release of Businessman, comes the much awaited announcement of SSMB 29, which is helmed by SS Rajamouli.
Businessman, which came out in 2012, is written and directed by Puri Jagannadh, based on a concept given by Ram Gopal Varma. The film also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Prakash Raj, Nasser, Sayaji Shinde, Raza Murad, Subbaraju and Brahmaji in important roles.
The film is a gangster drama about how a man from Andhra emerges as the new don of Mumbai, just after the old league of gangsters either die or move on. The film is particularly noted for its mass one-liners and Mahesh Babu's gruff, angry-young-man performance. Thaman is the music director of Businessman, with cinematography by Shyam K Naidu and editing by SR Shekar.
