We had earlier reported that Rashmika Mandanna will be headlining a Tamil-Telugu bilingual titled Rainbow. The film has now gone on floors on Friday, the makers announced.

Directed by debutant Shantharuban, the film features actor Dev Mohan playing a vital role. Backed by Dream Warrior Pictures, the film marks Rashmika's maiden project as solo lead.

Earlier speaking to CE, the director had said, "At heart, it will be a romantic fantasy. I would not be able to reveal much, at this time, but the story will be set against the backdrop of Ooty. The story will primary revolve around these two characters. I got the idea of the film back in 2017 and developed it. Thankfully it worked out and gave me a canvas to mount this feature film.”

The first schedule is expected to last for 20-25 days. Rainbow will have Telugu artists as supporting cast.
