Tovino Thomas-starrer Thallumaala, which released in theatres recently, might be made in Telugu with Siddhu Jonnalagadda who starred in DJ Tillu, playing the lead role.

However no official announcement has been made.

If media reports are to be believed, a distributor has acquired the remake rights of Thallumaala for Rs 85 lakh and Siddhu will be playing Tovino's role in the remake. However, there has been no word on the rest of the cast and crew.

Thallumaala  is directed by Khalid Rahman and also stars Kalyani Priyadarshan, Shine Tom Chacko, Johny Antony, Binu Pappu and Lukman among others. It has script by Muhsin Parari and Ashraf Hamza. Thallumaala opened to positive reviews and was highly praised for its wacky-styled shots, stunt sequences, music and the film's screenplay.
