After teaming up on debutant Mallidi Vassishta's fantasy drama Bimbisara, Kalyan Ram and Samyuktha Menon are all set to reunite in Naveen Medaram-directed period drama Devil -- The British Secret Agent, with the former playing the titular role. Initially, the makers roped in Yukti Thareja as the female lead, but she opted out of the film due to undisclosed reasons.

"Naveen Medaram and Kalyan Ram were impressed with Samyuktha's body of work in Bimbisara and believed that she would perfectly fit into the role of a spy. The actor has signed on the dotted line on Tuesday and will give a look test on Friday," says a source close to the development.

The film is all set to roll in December, in Karaikudi, followed by another schedule in Goa, Kolkata and Georgia, where the team has identified vintage structures that replicate the period era.

Set in the 1940s, the film will see Kalyan Ram going for a makeover to look the part. The makers are planning to wrap up the entire shoot by March and release the film during summer.

Besides this film, Samyuktha will also be seen in Dhanush's Telugu-Tamil bilingual Sir and Malayalam film Boomerang.
