Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramoodu's sci-fi comedy drama Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25 now gets a Telugu remake. According to a well-placed source, actor Vishnu Manchu has acquired the remake rights for the official remake of the film in Telugu and is planning to cast Mohan Babu in the lead role.

"Vishnu and Mohan Babu were fascinated with the story of Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25 and have decided to join hands as a producer and actor. The film, in all probability, will go on floors later this year," says a source close to the development.

Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25 dwells on the story of a conservative father and his son, who moves abroad for better prospects. Things turn interesting when his son employs an AI robot, which unfolds a new series of events in their village.

The director and other cast are yet to be finalised and we hear, Vishnu is planning to cast a young hero to reprise Soubin Shahir's role.

Released on November 8, 2019, Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25 received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike.
