The film will now release either in September or October, says a source

The makers of Akhil Akkineni-starrer Agent announced last week that the film is set for a theatrical release on August 12. According to a well-placed source, the film might not hit the screens as announced due to a delay in production.

"Until now, the makers have completed about 50-60% of the production. It will take longer than expected...say a little over two months to wrap up the remaining portions, including a brief schedule in Europe. Hence, they are now contemplating pushing the film to either September or October," informs a source.

Directed by Surender Reddy, Agent showcases Akhil in a quintessential spy avatar and both, his character and the film's story are loosely inspired by the popular American action thriller franchise, The Boupushingrne Series.

The film marks the debut of Sakshi Vaidya as the female lead, with Mammootty and Ravi Kishan playing supporting roles. Music of the film is by Hiphop Tamizha.
