PM Modi: Kaikala Satyanarayana is known for remarkable acting skills and diverse roles

The actor passed away on Friday due to age-related ailments

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the demise of veteran Telugu actor Kaikala Satyanarayana. 

Taking to his social media handle, the PM wrote, "Pained by the passing away of noted film personality Shri Kaikala Satyanarayana Garu. He was popular across generations for his remarkable acting skills and diverse roles. My thoughts are with his family and admirers. Om Shanti."

Satyanarayana passed away in the early hours of Friday due to age-related ailments. He was 87. Having made his debut with Sipayi Kuthuru in 1959, Satyanarayana is one of the few in Telugu cinema to complete 60 years as an artist. Throughout his long and vibrant career comprising nearly 800 films, the actor has explored different genres and roles. He is best known for playing the villain. One of his iconic roles was Yamadharma Raju in multiple films. He was recently seen in a guest role in Maharshi (2019). Satyanarayana won three Nandi Awards. He is survived by his spouse and 4 children.
