The second installment of Karthikeya starring actor Nikhil Siddhartha is currently having a successful run in theatres. In the meanwhile, the actor has revealed that there will be more installments of the franchise.

The Karthikeya franchise is directed by Chandoo Mondeti. The first part of the supernatural mystery thriller came out in 2014 and evolved around a mysterious temple, and how a doctor (Nikhil Siddartha) comes to be associated with it. The second installment features Nikhil along with Anupam Kher, Anupama Parameswaran, Aditya Menon, KS Sridhar, among others.

Speaking to IANS about the possibilities of having a third part, Nikhil said, "Yes, since we have a character like Dr Karthik who is hell bent on unearthing exciting mysteries and having adventures. There are several more untold stories about our cultural heritage and we will be back for several more exciting installments of Karthikeya."

However, an official announcement on the third part has not yet been made by the makers.

Meanwhile, Karthikeya 2 is successfully running in theatres and according to the actor the film’s screenings has increased from 40 screens to 1,000 locations with 3,000 shows.
