Karnataka calls for boycotting Allu Arjun's film Pushpa The Rise: Part 1

CE Features

The release of Allu Arjun's big-ticket film Puspha The Rise: Part 1 is facing opposition in Karnataka. The multilingual film is releasing in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. However, the lack of screens for the Kannada version has angered fans in the State.

The Telugu version of Pushpa has received more screens in Karnataka and this has resulted in frustration among Kannada-speaking fans who want the Kannada version to have a wider release.  There is also debate on how other languages films released in the state should ensure that the Kannada version has more screens in the state than the other versions.

A few did argue in favor of the distributor who is releasing the film in Karnataka and shared screenshots of the three screens that did open bookings for the Kannada version. However, they have not been filled up. In comparison, the tickets for the Telugu version are sold out with many theatres hiking up the price. At the moment, Bookmyshow reflects three screens for the Tamil and Kannada versions each. Malayalam has a total of one screen.

Pushpa The Rise: Part 1 is directed by Sukumar and stars Rashmika Mandanna, Sunil, Fahadh Faasil in pivotal roles. It is produced jointly by Mythri Movie Makers and Muttamsetty Media.
