Actor Bandla Ganesh has been roped in to headline the Telugu remake of the 2019 Tamil thriller Oththa Seruppu Size 7. Directed by debutant Venkat Chandra and produced by Swathi Chandra, the film will go on floors in the first week of September.

The film will show Ganesh in a new avatar, as the actor-turned-producer is currently going for a makeover. The Tamil language original, written and directed by R Parthiepan, had bagged the Special Jury Award and the Best Audiography award for its sound designer Resul Pookutty at the 67th National Awards.

Oththa Seruppu Size 7 tells the story of an emotionally unstable murder suspect, who explains the modus operandi behind the crimes he had committed to the policemen. The Tamil version, which starred Parthiepan, has received good reviews from critics and audiences alike. The film had also entered the Asia Book of Records for having just one cast member.

Besides Telugu, the film is also being remade in Hindi with Abhishek Bachchan stepping into the shoes of Parthiepan. The shooting of the Hindi version is currently underway in Chennai.
