Aha Tamil is coming up with an original series titled Pettaikaali. Backed by Vetri Maaran, it is the first ever Tamil web series based on Jallikattu. La Rajkumar, a former associate of Vetri Maaran, is directing the series. He has previosuly made the political satire Annanukku Jai, starring Attakathi Dinesh.

The motion poster of Pettaikaali was released on Wednesday. It shows visuals of a grand Jallikattu event and the focus is on a bull. The series has music supervision by Santhosh Narayanan and cinematography by Velraj — two regular collaborators of Vetri Maaran. It is set to premiere this Deepavali on Aha Tamil.

It must be noted that Vetri Maaran is also working on a similar project based on Jallikattu. Titled Vaadivaasal, the film stars Suriya in the lead and Kalaipuli S Thanu as the producer. Though the film's test shoot was held in March this year, its actual shoot is yet to begin.
