The makers of Ponniyin Selvan: 1 (PS 1) have released the video of Ratchasa Maamaney song, which features Karthi, Trisha and Sobhita Dhulipala. The song is composed by AR Rahman and written by Kablian. It is sung by Shreya Ghoshal, Palakad Sreeram and Mahesh Vinayakram. Brinda has choreographed the song, which comes at a point when Karthi's Vanthiyathevan reaches Palaiyaarai palace to meet Kundhavai (Trisha) during the Krishna Jayanti celebrations.

Meanwhile, PS 1, directed by Mani Ratnam, has surpassed the Rs 450 crore mark at the box office. The film, which hit screens on September 30 has been declared as the highest grossing Tamil film of all time. Based on Kalki's novel by the same name, the period epic boasts an ensemble star cast including Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Jayaram, Sarath Kumar, among others.

The project is backed by Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies in association with Lyca Productions. The second installment is set to hit screens in 2023. The makers are yet to announce the release date.
