The trailer of Connect, the upcoming Tamil film starring Nayanthara in the lead role, was released by the makers on social media.

The film is set to hit the theatres on December 22. Connect will be 99 minutes long and will have no intermission.

Directed by Ashwin Saravanan, Connect is a horror thriller just like his previous film with Nayanthara, Maya (2015). It also stars Anupam Kher, Vinay Rai, Sathyaraj, and child actor Haniya Nafisa in pivotal roles.

Connect’s trailer begins by introducing a happy family comprising of Nayanthara, Sathyaraj, Vinay and Haniya, who go about their lives, until the lockdown is imposed. As they are separated by distance, the trailer begins to hint the presence of demonic power, as it gradually turns into a full-fledged horror film. Anupam Kher plays a church father who says an exorcism has to be performed.

The upcoming film is set during the pandemic-induced nationwide lockdown period. Ashwin has scripted it with his Kaavya Ramkumar. They had earlier co-written the 2019-released psychological thriller Game Over.

Connect, produced by Vignesh Shivan's Rowdy Pictures. The film has music by Prithvi Chandrasekhar and cinematography by Manikantan Ramachary. Richard Kevin is the editor.
