The makers of the Vijay-starrer Varisu released the second single, Thee Thalapathy.

While it was announced that the single will be sung by Silambarasan, the promo video song had a big surprise.

Apart from singing, Silambarasan also featured in the song, which is clearly a tribute to Vijay, who celebrates 30 years in cinema on Sunday.

And... the biggest surprise of them all was seeing Vijay himself walking majestically in the brilliant fiery sets constructed for the number. Unfortunately, we didn't have both the stars share screen.

Choreographed by Sandy, who also features in the video, Thee Thalapathy is written by Vivek, who makes an appearance too along with composer Thaman.

Here's the video:

Billed as a family entertainer, Varisu is directed by Telugu filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally, who marks his debut in the Tamil film industry. The film is backed by Dil Raju and Shirish under Sri Venkateshwara Creations banner. Vamshi has written the film along with Hari and Ashishor Solomon.

Besides Vijay, the film also features Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead, with Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Khushbu, Jayasudha, Srikanth, Shaam, Yogi Babu, Sangeetha and Samyuktha. The technical crew includes cinematographer Karthik Palani, and editor KL Praveen.
