The trailer and audio of Karthi's Viruman were held grandly on Wednesday. The event was held in Madurai, where the film is set. Directed by Muthaiah, the film looks like a proper village-based mass entertainer.

From the 2.32-minute-long trailer, we gather that the film will be high with Karthi playing a rural ruffian of sorts. It reminds of his roles in films like Paruthiveeran and Komban, which was also directed by Muthaiah.

Viruman has Prakash Raj in a prominent role as Karthi's father. Soori appears as his sidekick and Aditi Shankar plays his romantic interest. Raj Kiran, Singampuli, Robo Shankar, Karunas, Manoj Bharathi, RK Suresh, Saranya Ponvannan, Vadivukkarasi, and many others are part of the cast.

Viruman, which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, is produced by the Suriya, Jyotika-headed banner 2D Entertainment. The makers have confirmed August 12 as the release date.
