The makers of Laabam have released the second trailer of the film. Directed by late SP Jhananathan, the film stars Vijay Sethupathi and Shruti Haasan as the leads.

In the film, Jagapathi Babu plays a greedy corporate head who teams up with foreign companies to exploit the wealth of rural areas. Vijay Sethupathi is seen sporting multiple looks in the film ranging from a nomad to a farmer. 

Laabam is one of the first major Tamil films to hit screens after the second wave of COVID-19.

Laabam has music by D Imman and cinematography by Ramji. The film, which marks the second collaboration with Jhananathan and Vijay Sethupathi after the 2015 release Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai, also features Sai Dhanshika, Kalaiyarasan, Ramesh Thilak, and Prithivi Rajan in supporting roles.

Laabam is a co-production between Vijay Sethupathi's own production house and 7C's Entertainment Pvt Ltd. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on September 9.
