Ever since the release and the successful box office performance of Modha Rathri, the audience has been talking a lot about the film's director Raja Karuppasamy as well as its lead cast members Rishikanth and Anishma Anilkumar. They have been drawing parallels between Rishikanth and Rajinikanth. According to them, the actor performs with mannerisms that are similar to the Superstar, especially in the latter's vintage films such as Mullum Malarum and Johnny.

In a recent conversation with Cinema Express, Rishikanth talked about these comparisons. He said, "I have continuously been made aware of similarities between Rajinikanth and me. While it feels nice to listen to it in the beginning, I would want to be known for something I did." The actor also said that such comparisons happen because Rajinikanth is "the default base" for these parallels, and he reminisced about his early memories of watching the Superstar's films.

In another recent interview, too, the Modha Rathri star dealt with a question regarding the comparisons between him and Rajinikanth. In a conversation with PROVOKE TV, he was asked about the prospect of starring in a film based on the Superstar's life and career. In response, the actor said, "I just started my life. Rajinikanth has done far greater things, for which he earned a name for himself." He added, "While I am happy about people drawing comparisons between me and Rajinikanth, I would want to create my own identity."

Following Modha Rathri, Rishikanth can be seen in the latest Karthik Subbaraj directorial venture, Dorothy. The film stars him as a close friend of Sananth's character. It also stars Keerthy Suresh in an important role.
