Nivin Pauly is gearing up for the October 01 release of his film Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, directed by Ram and also starring Soori and Anjali. Interestingly, the film is coming to theatres at a time when Nivin and Soori are fresh from the successes of their films, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit and Mandaadi, respectively.

In a recent interview, Nivin Pauly spoke about Soori's dedication and hard work during the production of Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai with Mandaadi in mind. Speaking to Sudhir Srinivasan, Nivin revealed that Soori would hit the gym right after a late-night shoot and work out for an hour or so and that he would not have much for dinner. "Once, Ram sir and I told him to have some good food with us, but he said, 'No, I am preparing myself for something.' He had that mindset even at that time," Nivin said about his Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai co-star.

Nivin added that Mandaadi is doing well at the box office thanks partly to Soori's "sacrifice for the past four-five years". It is worth noting that production on Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai was wrapped in 2022, and that the film even had its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam two years ago.

Directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, Mandaadi follows a sailboat race between rival teams in a coastal area. It has marked Soori's first film to gross over 100 crore at the global box office as a lead hero. Recently, the likes of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan appreciated the film and the team behind it.

On the other hand, Nivin Pauly has been having quite the year so far. At the start of the year, the actor had his first 100-crore grossing film with Sarvam Maya, and he recently went on to break the industry hit record of Lokah with Bethlehem Kudumba Unit.
